Operation Vijay – India’s Historic Triumph in the Kargil War
Operation Vijay was launched by the Indian Army in
1999 during the Kargil War, a critical chapter in Indian military
history. This high-altitude conflict is a frequently asked topic in SSB
interviews and written exams, making it vital for those enrolled in the Indian Army coaching centre Madurai
or seeking Defence exam coaching
Madurai. The operation aimed to evict Pakistani soldiers and militants
who had illegally occupied Indian territory along the Line of Control (LoC).
With full-scale mobilisation and support from the Indian Air Force’s Operation
Safed Sagar, India launched a coordinated assault to recapture key peaks in
the Drass, Kargil, and Batalik sectors.
